Why
so much hatred and anger towards (India)? Is it more
convenient to blame India for Bangladesh's
misfortunes than to than a deep Introspections at
the problems which ail The Bangla Nation.
I would like to correct a few 'facts' in your mail.
1."India is constantly trying to destabilize
Bangladesh"- India
is too big and important in using all its efforts
to block development of its smaller neighbours In
fact It is in best interest of India to have strong
and prosperous neighbours as it makes the whole region an Economically
Dynamic zone.
2."The liberations
of Bangladesh would have never happened had it not been for the
Indian Army"-True. Mukti Bahini
played an important part but without Indian Army and
Naval Support it would have been no match for 80,000 strong
West Pakistan army.
3."India is going to break in 15 years" -after
58 years of Indian Independance Indian Nation is still strong.
4. True there is
still a lot of poverty in India and there are still a lot of
communities which are marginalized
but then the constitution of India as well as its
Judiciary provide protection and safe guards to such
communities and they have come a long way since 1947.India
Economy is growing at an average of 7% p.a ,with a
growing middle class ,secular and democratic institutions
and a large pool of educated workforce ,there is a
confidence and a new self respect among Indians of all classes ,regions That
India will find its place among the elecheons of great
Nations.
So Instead of blaming India for all Bangladesh's
problems you should ask yourself why is bangladesh so economically
backward today -is it India or the bangladeshi politicians
to blamed ,who have used 'The India Card" instead
of working for the betterment of her people.I request
you not to spread hatred which is nagative and destructive
but provide positive Inputs which make the whole South
Asian Region economically progressive and vibrant.

While there may be
scope of debate on a few points within Ms. Farida's step-by-step
narration of the history, I would like to restrict my response to
the core of her letter, which is certainly appreciable. The essence
of her letter is that we, Bangladeshis, should do our best to promote
the good image of our country in order to counter Indian propaganda.
She has portrayed well, how and to what extent India has been unleashing
its plots against Bangladesh. Without contradicting her comments,
I would like to add a few lines of caution, which I think is very
important for our self-consciousness. We very often get so much
carried away with blaming others that we tend to ignore some faults
of our own which is equally damaging our future as a nation. Of
course blowing things out of proportion is condemnable, but intentionally
neglecting things also cannot be rational. The case in point is
that not all problems have their roots outside. We all know, till
to date we have not been successful to contain the miscreants of
another sorts within our country. Isn’t a Bangla bhai venomous
enough to ruin our image as a nation? Frankly speaking, issues related
to India are important, but those are not the only ones. No matter
how logical our urge or demand is, stronger powers are not likely
to pay heed to us; this is the case everywhere in the world. As
a nation, we have to strive hard to reach to a position when other
countries find it important to take notice of us. To do that we
have to annihilate corruption, retrieve our morality and detain
the reprobates who are at large. Let me put it in this way- our
battle is at two fronts, one against the external conspirators,
and, equally important another one is against the problems within
our country. The solution of the latter rests purely on us, why
not giving it proper attention!

Assala-mu-Alaikum
Most of the information are correct with the true findings that
The Saddam regime in Iraq killed millions of innocent Iranians and
many Iraqis as well. On the other hand the Muslim Monarchs are playing
their pipes in full confidence that their generations will continue
to rule. It is no matter, whether the nation exist or not. Similarly,
there is enmity between Muslim nations due to the ill motives of
the rulers. If you read different verses of the holy Quran (especially
Sura Saba (2nd - 4th chapter, Sura Hamim Sejda (last 2 chapter)
& Ahjab) you will find the reasons. We are driven, guided and
mobilised to fulfill the evil design of the social, economic and
political rulers. If you read "Panjeri" by Farrukh you
will find a better picture of our society.
To get rid of these bloody people we must learn more from the Quran
and practice more. We must find a political platform that lead us
to the peace of this world and the after words. It is un wise blaming
others where we are (our leaders) do not see the interest of us
or we are not courageous enough to nourish our Muslim interest.

Dear Ms Farida,
Really thanks for your thoughtful writting. Well, we are really
nice people when we are in abroad. We try to work hard and be a
good foreigner for those countries where we stay. But we have a
very big problem . What is that? When we are staying on our own
soil (motherland), we do corruption, tell lies, and so on. I think,
first, we should be devoted to our country. Mainly, political leaders
should be honest. After that we can fight internationally. If we
can make us strong, automatically everybody will respect us. So
I am requesting Ms. Farida, please write something for our own country
also where most of the people are quarreling and screaming. Again
thanks for your nice article.

Dear
Ms. Farida,
Congratulations for
your well-thought writings. I also share mostly similar views with
you. We Bangladeshis should try to uphill our images by protesting
any propaganda and doing something better from our existing capacities.
As you see, the situation has been changing. After causing 13th
SAARC summit to postponement, India was criticized from every corners
of the world, except some of our Bangladeshis, and Bangladeshi newspapers.
Where Indian newspapers criticize its decision very strongly, our
well known newspapers couldn’t be able to place any strong
words against this in their editorials. Even they failed to write
editorials on the subsequent day. Some of us are more Indians than
Bangladeshis. It is unfortunate. We should understand that we are
in a position to bargain with India due to being one of the biggest
trade partner as well as from strategic point of view. India's seven
sisters are lacking well behind than other parts only because of
India's indecisive decision to cooperate with Bangladesh.
With strong protest
against their unilateral decision not to join SAARC summit in Dhaka,
2-days ago they unveiled their South Asian Doctrine where they said
that they want to cooperate with small neighbors, and small neighbors
should think India as opportunity rather than threat. But they will
not tolerate any security threat to their territory.
India thinks itself
a super power in the south Asian region, mostly for its sheer physical
size and military strength. But Indians may be not aware that world
is watching them. The country which has no respect to its neighbor
countries, which can’t show minimum commitment to regional
cooperation, how do they think that they would be superpower? Of
course, their recent debilitating blow against SAARC posed a serious
question on their capability to attain permanent seat in the security
council of the UN.
Let’s see their
position against the claim to be economic powerhouse of the 21st
Century. Last year, a report by JP Morgan showed that India was
13 years behind China in almost every area, except in its financial
system and rule of law. Just for a record, China has a foreign reserve
of US$403.3 billion, while India has only $115.3 billion. China's
GDP is twice than India's $1.09 trillion. This comparison simply
foresees where India is, and becoming an economic powerhouse in
Asia would not be so easy for India. Can they supersede China in
any respect?
India should realize
that it has to stop being defensive towards everything that is not
Indian. An open India is as good for India as it is for the rest
of the world.
I also thank administrator
of Bangladesh Tigers Cricket Club’s website for publishing
the article of Ms. Farida. I think they can publish open comments
on this article too.
