Bengali people at home and as Probashis should be very concerned that our enemies are working to divide us even in France, UK, Europe, Asia, and USA over issues in Bangladesh. Some in India and their proxies’ abroad are playing a very nasty manipulative game against the interest of Bangladesh and Probashis. Unfortunately, we seem to be falling into the trap so very easily because of our lack of action. Bangladesh success is a threat and failure for Indian federation according to their logic.

India is not a country but a sub-continent like sub-Sahara Africa or even old USSR with all its complexities over race, region, language, religion, Hindu caste, culture. It is often forgotten that India was an administrative convenience of the English occupier of South Asia when Bangladesh- Bengal in English language- was its central hub, being the richest nation in Asia and Islamic world.

India was gifted to the 3% of Hindus labelling themselves Brahmin caste- a people who consider themselves born superior to all other Hindus; some 85% of Hindus belong to Sudra caste- a serf people. The Untouchables, 25% of India's population, form a separate category having been excluded as sub-human according to primitive ideas of the faith. However, we should refrain from criticism of another religion and its practice.
East and West Pakistan were broken up from either end of the subcontinent as part of the old English habit of divide-and-rule, as practised in Ireland, Palestine, Arabia, Australia, Africa, etc.

The name Pakistan was lifted from the name of an obscure district in Central Asia that the communist revolutionaries of British India came across in their travels in the USSR in the 1920s and 1930s. A Bengali student in Cambridge called C Rahmat Ali coined the name. Because of the falsification even Bengali people aren't aware of the truth! Let alone the West Pakistanis and the fantasy presented by West Pakistanis is the one about an acronym!

The English occupier created a false paradigm over a 1000 miles separated as a deliberate game of divide-and-cause-hatred. East Bengal was the richer and bigger but geographically compact. West Pakistan was largely desert and poor with diverse nationalities.

In 1947 the English FLED South Asia leaving terrible ethnic cleansing, especially in Punjab, of poor Punjabi Sikhs, Hindus, Untouchables, Ahmadiayas, Tribal, Muslims and Christians.

The Army of the new entity was left in the hand of the servile servants of the English occupier, mostly of Punjabi ethnic origin. It enabled the Punjabi Army to soon demand all the resources of the state for themselves. It is wise to recall that the poor Punjabi Muslims had lived under Sikh and Hindu domination for hundreds of years- the only large Muslim group to have been conquered and subjugated by Sikhs and Hindus during Mughal rule of South Asia- before English ouster of Sikh Kingdom of Punjab.
It is interesting to note that the British chose sepoys from the most servile and marginal groups in lands under occupation. The Sikh and Muslim Punjabis from particularly Jat (a sudra caste) groups were recruited as sepoys. Some Untouchable and Brahmin groups from South India and Maharata region were also chosen. However, the Hindu Punjabi, Sindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kashmiri were excluded from recruitment. In the Middle East the British chose to recruit Kurds and Arab Shias as sepoys and excluded Arab Egyptians, Saudis, etc.

The East had a developed language called Bangla which had been developed by all faiths including Buddhists- Bengali Muslims are largely of Buddhist origin like the people of Central Asia adopting Islam- and the West had no developed written language to hold it together and so adopted Hindustani a language of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, MP, etc.

Interestingly, Urdu is Hindi language but adopting Arabic script. The Court language used to be Persian in UP and Bengal until the middle of 19c when it was replaced by the English administration. In the early 20th c the English removed Bihar, Orrisa, Assam after hundreds of years from Bengal control- had become debased and neglected in the 19th century under English occupation.

Bengali and Hindi/Urdu share similar grammar alien to Arabic, which belongs to a Semitic linguistic group. Hence Urdu has no claim to being close to language of the Quran!

According to the dishonest logic of the Indian Urdu speaking refugees in East and West Pakistan- self-styled Muhajir- after the Muhajirs of the Prophet Mohammed’s time- a clear blasphemy- Urdu-wallahs demanded that Urdu had to be the national language as Arabic script of Hindi language had turned it into a Quranic language- another blasphemy- as if by Allah's magic! It is as if Urdu had been mentioned in Bukhari Sharif- if you doubt their blasphemy please check their twisted Mullahs pronouncements.

Incidentally, like Bengali language Urdu too has included thousands of Arabic, Persian and Turkish loan words but according to Urdu-wallahs' twisted logic ancient Bangla script of Bengali language makes it an un-holy in the eyes of Allah. Bengali having its own beautiful script and not Arabic script had become a kafir language according to Urdu promoters’ Islamic thinking. To follow the logic what is one to make of the Bangla script, which originated in South Arabia from a script known as Brahmi?

Utter ignorance and misuse of Islam became the habit and norm of Urdu promoters in the name of opportunistic, false and corrupt version of Indian Islam- much innocent blood was shed. Many lives were lost to promote Hindi language in Arabic script (Urdu) as a language of Allah and Mohammad and authentic Arabia! The promoters of Urdu spread lies about Bengali language and Muslim people all over the Islamic world in the name of true Islam.

Sometimes non-Muslims and Muslims fail to comprehend what really happened during the 26 years of the new nation flung into being by the English fleeing South Asia in 1947. They seem to be unaware how Islamic language and quotes from the Quran and Hadiths were used to systematically denude the resources of a Muslim people in the eastern part.

Bengali people were expected to sacrifice their wealth and resources to provide for the upliftment of the West Pakistan entity. It was Allah's Hukm- God's Will- that Bengali nation surrender their wealth, resources and even their language and history to the higher demands of Islam- clearly a blasphemy and a debasement of noble teachings and examples.

Hostile Hindu Brahmin dominated India was everywhere and Kashmir was under occupation. Bengalis wanted to avoid disunity in the new entity in an already fragile region. They hoped that with perseverance the issues would be resolved by negotiation and create an ideal Muslim nation even though divided by thousand miles of hostile territory.
Do remember not a single Arab Muslim country, even with all the hopes of an ummat al-Arab, has been able to overcome national suspicion and difference but still Bengalis were not willing to give up even with so much injustice.
As we will see further on it was only with the final insult when an democratic election had provided a platform for a largely Bengali political party to form national government that West Pakistanis finally erupted into an orgy of mass killings and rape of women and children. The lie was finally nailed to the coffin of the bogus Islamic entity. The entity was founded after breaking off either end of South Asia so as to found a good place for Muslims- without the overbearing hegemony of the Hindu Brahmins- who had suffered so many injustices during British occupation. For 26 years East's resources were used to build up West Pakistan. Most of the West Pakistani Universities, schools, diplomatic missions, banks, three cities, roads, agriculture, dams, canal building, the armed forces, most of the civil-service jobs, airlines, shipping, factories, education had been resourced by Bangladesh. Yes, Bangladesh plc paid for development of poor West Pakistan for 26 years and got no thanks but even more sullen resentment and abuse.

Whenever people protested that the foreign-exchange and resource rich East was being drained; that benefits were not coming to Muslim people of the East, Bengalis were lectured that they were not being good Muslims and following Allah and Mohammad like the West Pakistanis. It was Allah's hukm, will, that all resources must be diverted to West Pakistan and that Bengali people are beggared for Allah and Mohammed’s sake. It was Allah's Hukm that Bengalis remain silent. Every protest of Bengali people was treated as a reflection being NOT GOOD MUSLIM AND NOT OBEYING MOHAMMAD AND ALLAH'S MISSION- please check the West Pakistani pronouncements of the time. Even the Israelis, Christian Fundamentalists and Indian Hindus fanatics would be shocked with envy at the quality of lies spread by them against Muslim people in order to cheat them of their wealth and deny them benefit of their own resources. The West Pakistanis knew that they could continue to use the language of Islamic brotherhood and sacrifice to silence the Bengali protests.

It was truly satanic what abuse Islam suffered. All things Bengali were negativised and manipulated, portrayed as if Islam, Allah and Mohammad would forbid Bengali ways. The fact that Bangladesh was blessed by Allah with rivers, forests, fruits, birds, animal life, lush farm lands in every corner, and all the beauty described in great poetry of Muslim poets of the past was a reflection of how un-Islamic Bengal was! Every aspect of Bengali life was twisted and made to be alien to Allah and Islam. Examination of the social and folk mores like the Hindu caste system and rituals of say the Punjabis were carefully excluded discussion.

In actual fact the Pakistan project was the biggest failure and a condemnation of people professing the noble religion of Islam. The object lesson for all Muslims of the world as to what happens when the Quran, Sunnah and Hadiths come into the "knowledge" of those whose motive are evil and criminal.

The founder of the new entity was a Gujarati Shia Muslim by the name of Jinnah. He left his Parsi wife and son in Bombay permanently while he came to Karachi to head the new state. Jinnah's son never even set foot on the new country. Even today the founder's son refuses to go to West Pakistan. It is not even known if he has adopted Shia Muslim faith.
It is interesting to note that Jinnah like the leadership of Muslim League, founded in Dhaka in 1906, were largely secular unlike leadership of Brahmin Hindu dominated Indian Congress Party, founded by an Englishman as a pressure group to promote basic rights of native Muslim and Hindu colonised of India.

In the new entity every aspect of Muslim life was stigmatised. Bengali cuisine was presented in a negative light as if they had any knowledge of it! Bengal being abundant- unlike the largely desert West Pakistan- in all types of food from land, river and sea and Bengali love of rice, fish, foul, meat, mustard oil, ghee, vegetables, dates, mangoes, lychees, jack-fruit, bananas were not part of a Islamic diet according to West Pakistanis especially Punjabis. (The Urdu speaking refugees, Muhajirs, for their own reasons used to abuse Punjabis as "thick as a plank", donkey or mercenary kafirs). They made it appears that under Islam Muslims do not eat rice or fish or vegetables or mangoes; nor cook with mustard or coconut oil! Every aspect of Bengali life was less good because of what they imagined Arabs had for their diet!

The West Pakistani Punjabis used to make fun of Bengalis enjoying mangoes- a national fruit of Bangladesh. They said it smelt terrible and tasted like fish!

From their logic and imagining anything, any species not found in Mecca and Medina during Prophet's time was Haram and un-Islamic! Apparently West Pakistanis did not eat fish, rice, mangoes or vegetables! What did they eat in a Quranic way? And if one follows the West Pakistani logic all art, music, all languages- including Urdu, dress, all knowledge, food should be banned to Muslims. Just imagine such vermin leading the Muslim nation in the early history of Islam?

Some native West Pakistanis even took pride in announcing that they could not to swim! They claimed that every Bengali could swim because they had so many rivers, lakes and was surrounded by Bay of Bengal! They were suggesting that to have rivers and to able to swim was negative!

If one imagines that West Pakistani illiterates, over 87% in 1971, were the main culprits you would be wrong. It was the "educated" who had a profuse baggage of filthy imagination.

Actually the West Pakistani was only trying to undermine a particular Muslim people using the armoury of Quran and Sunnah to cheat them of their resources and prevent them benefiting from their own resources. Please remember the Army and Police were under Punjabi control. Such evil was continued for 26 years. It is an indictment of the Ummah and the Islamic world that they paid so little attention to what was being achieved abusing the name of our Prophet, our Holy Quran and our great intellectual and cultural history from Spain to China.

The fact remains that Bengali cuisine is extensive and one of the richest and finest in all Asia. In fact most of that great sweets and desserts of South Asia are of Bengali origin. The art of Mughal cooking was very much infused into the Bengali culture and tradition and Dhaka, Sonargaon, Murshidabad and Chittagong- ancient name: Islamabad- were great centres of food and culture was missed out in the new entity carved out of either side of British India.

The truth remains Bangladesh people have rich and rounded culture much enhanced by our Islamic heritage of 1400 years. Sahabis visited this land during the time of our beloved Prophet when Bengali land stretched from Delhi to Tibet under the great and noble Buddhist Palas. Bengal received waves after waves of settlers, adventurers and refugees from all over the known world including Southern Europe, North and East Africa, Central Asia, Arabia, China and East Asia, South Asia. In time Bengali identity became a composite of diverse influences from land and sea.

An honest election was finally called in all East and West Pakistan in 1970. The largest single vote and majority of seats in Pakistani elections was won by Awami League meaning that Bengali majority could finally form government ruling all Pakistan in 26 years of the existence of the entity.

The Punjabi Army in particular was blood-shot with anger and fear at the election results. Bengalis would finally share in shaping the destiny of the nation and share of resources in a fair way with all the regions including Sind, Punjab, Bengal, NWF, Baluchistan, resulting is a stronger nation even though divided by a thousand miles of hostile Indian territory.
It was a nightmare for the Punjabis, in particular. It was unthinkable that Punjabis should have only a smaller portion of resources of state. They were not prepared to let go of power and resources even if threatened the very existence of the state. It was becoming clear their motive was domination of their ethnic group whatever the consequences The election was now unacceptable to West Pakistanis in the name of Islam, Allah and Mohammad- if this sounds like blasphemy please check the newspapers articles and Mullahs' utterances. Remember these people claimed to be Muslims, they were not Israelis, Christian Fundamentalists or fanatic Hindu Indians.

The West Pakistani Punjabi army wanted to punish Bengalis for electing Awami League. Punjabi Army went on a killing and raping of boys, girls and women spree in the name of their Allah and Mohammad. They were not prepared to accept the election results that would have meant sharing the resources of the country including jobs in the army and civil service with all nationalities.

Very sadly, there was little protest in the Muslim world. There was silence and even collusion by some in the global Ummah as the Punjabi led army were programmed to diminish by killing, humiliate by mass rape, and punish people for daring to elect their own leaders. And the rest is history.

Bangladesh, England's cash cow "Jewel in the Crown" in the days of British Indian Empire- sometimes all India is misnamed as such- was now a nation again after 200 years of humiliation at Palashi. The day commemorated in Bangladesh and Bengali Diaspora (Probash) on 23rd June as a day of mourning and resistance every year. Bengalis also try to remember the betrayal and treachery from within by Rajasthani Marwaris, who were entrusted with the national treasury.

After nearly 200 years of British occupation and another 26 years as part of a supposedly Muslim nation Bangladesh emerged once again. Bangladesh start was hard, very hard: denuded of her resources and many of her best minds murdered by West Pakistani Army.

The 1973-oil bonanza in Arabia came just in time and West Pakistan got a new source of AID after Bangladesh resources were lost. The biggest mosques (Faisal Mosque was built by Saudis), housing projects for the poor and powerful, highways, military equipment, nuclear installations, stadiums were paid for by huge Arab aid in the name of Islamic welfare. West Pakistanis never returned or even acknowledged any of the huge resources stolen in the 26 years from Bangladesh.
Bangladesh had to start afresh all over again with many of her educated deliberately slained in the name of West Pakistani Islam and countless thousands killed, injured and raped. Bangladesh could not get a single one of its own planes, diplomatic mission properties etc out of the West Pakistani thieves. A hostile and ill-educated Arab world was well primed by West Pakistani lies against Bangladesh and Muslim people.

For years after West Pakistan presented itself a victim of Bengali aggression even though the truth was otherwise! The West Pakistanis even claimed that Bengali people were not Muslim- the logic being it was OK to kill and rape for the sake of Allah and Mohammed- to the Arab world! What was one to make of such evil? The Muslim nation must forgive but never forgetful.

Today Arabs, Muslims and the Ummah are beginning to know that Bengali nation was one the earliest nations to receive Islam and that Sahabis came to Bangladesh even in the time our Prophet to preach and found communities. And that the seafaring (on land too into Tibet, Burma and beyond) Bengali people spread the good values of Islam into Asia in their trade missions and voyages along with Arab and other peoples.
For four years Bangladesh had another calamity at the hand of India. Even though Bengali people had liberated almost all of Bangladesh within a few months, India came along for the ride and claim glory at the last moment. Indian Army went through the corridor opened by Bangladesh Army, landed in Dhaka to sign a surrender deal with West Pakistani un-Muslim army of rapists, murderers and thieves.

India's farcical attempt at snatching glory at the last moment was meant to hurt Bangladesh jawans. But humiliation was impossible to Bengali nation since they had experienced, sacrificed and lived the victories against the evil enemy. Bangladesh Army and men and women had won and won absolutely the freedom of their nation using their own genius, bravery, martial skills and selfless sacrifices.

Thanks to the treachery of some of the Muslim Arab world West Pakistani coward rapists of women and children and mass murderers never faced a War Crimes Tribunal, not even an Islamic Fatwa. Some of the more shamed West Pakistanis blamed the dominant Muslim Punjabi groups like the Shias and Ahmadiyas for the conspiracy to dismember the entity with Hindu India's collusion! It is a terrible shame and a blot that the whole Ummah still bears today. Abuse of the Quran and Sunna of our Prophet should never go unpunished or acknowledged. The scars will remain unhealed until Muslim scholars come forward and issue an edict on the crimes. Muslims should draw lessons from the misuse of our noble religion. It is not a question of revenge.

Bengali people always knew all along that India was only interested in weakening the existing entity and not the love of Bangladesh, Bengali people, Islam or Muslims!
It was a pragmatic relationship in which Bangladesh was fighting for her survival and India wanted weakened entities on either end of her landmass. If there were sacrifices it was made by Indian Bengali people of all faiths for Bangladesh. No Bengali can ever forget the heroism and patriotism of Indian Bengalis.
It is sad but humorous to note that India keeps mentioning 10 million or even more Bengali refugees in India during the struggle in 1971. It was hugely inflated by India to collect foreign aid money and food. Most of the so-called refugees were poor Indians collected from all over North India to feed on foreign donations. The troubles of our nation were fruitful in more ways then one for India. There is no ill feeling for such activities in Bangladesh but does grate when India keeps propping up tales about 10 and even 15 million Bengali refugees in 1971.

Under a weak leadership of BongoBondhu Mujib- betrayal and treachery of BongoBondhu's trust by some of his closest comrades and relations- most the resources like military equipment, factories, banks, foreign exchange, foods, foreign aid, goods were openly looted by Indians for four years. Bangladesh currency was routinely forged by Indian Sikhs and Marwaris in India and brought to Dhaka to be used for purchase. In 1974 the nation faced another humiliating calamity as the nation was denuded of even cloth to bury the dead.

A cabal had taken control of the country and started a fascist-type of programme to turn Bangladesh into a North Korean-style totalitarian state under a party called BAKSAL. It is often forgotten that India and its ally the Soviet Union were the main instigators of the calamity.

Sheikh Mujib Rahman, a beloved charismatic man of good qualities and a great patriot, was totally cornered by Indians, their agents and proxies. The much diminished great patriotic leader was surrounded and controlled by greedy unpatriotic advisers who failed to see that the USA and the West were not going to allow another domino to fall in Asia, especially a Muslim nation with a population of 75 million. In 1975 very sadly the old regime was routed with active encouragement and help of the USA and anti- Communist allies at the height of Cold-War and Vietnam fiasco- this analysis is often neglected in studies of the period. The rest is history.

For 30 years India has played a dirty game in the region. It has tried to destabilise and malign Bangladesh- also other nations in the region, including a racial and religious civil-war between Singhalese Buddhists & Tamil Hindus in Sri Lanka, occupation of Buddhist nation of Sikkim. The very name of Bangladesh has been dragged through dirt using various propaganda techniques, terrorist tactics and proxies. Even a dirty underhand campaign against Bengali Probashis has been unleashed in a very dirty racist way using old racist techniques (racist techniques the Indians themselves abhor in others and the first to always shout RACIST!). Becoming aware of such Indian campaigns and tactics Bangladesh has become stronger and stronger both internally and internationally. As a result India's tactics have become increasingly desperate.

The economy of Bangladesh is growing strong- sadly not as yet as strongly as the great noble nation of China or our other neighbours in Eastern Asia. The middle-class is now formidable in Bangladesh with huge purchasing power.

India's 2nd largest economic partner, after USA, continues to be Bangladesh. Over half of world tourists to India are from Bangladesh. Actually, Bangladesh remains a great passive cash cow for India. But India has done every thing to prevent entry of Bangladesh goods and services into her own markets- most of the trade is one way.
For decades this same poor India has been playing the champion of poor nations seeking access to world markets. The game is up for the bogus champion of the poor of the world (India contains 40% of the poorest people in the world, more than all of Africa- International media does not highlight this fact.).
India earns billions of dollars from Bangladesh every year but it does not make her happy but makes her even more desperate.
Interestingly enough India prevents even Bangladesh TV, Cable, Radio, news media into her territory. India censors all Bangladesh media that the rest of world seems to be blissfully unaware of. Does it all sound familiar? Like the old USSR censoring Western media?

Why censor Bangladesh media? Well, some 400 million North Indians share Bangladesh culture if not religion. It is well known that if you get to know your neighbour you are less likely to feel hatred towards them and may be encouraged to even enjoy the better quality MADE IN BANGLADESH products.

The poor North Indian people cannot be blamed they remain completely in the dark about Bangladesh. It is interesting to note that even more than the Indian English language media, the vernacular media in Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati are full of shrill and pathetic lies about Bangladesh and Muslims. The vernaculars are usually the vehicle for pogroms against the Sikhs, Muslims, Christians, Untouchables, Tribal, etc. It seems the Indian regime has a lot to fear from its own poor, misinformed people- do remember this is the way of racism and racial hatred in Europe and America.

Every time news of a big project comes Bangladesh way- or other South Asian nations- India gets its citizens, organisations, media and companies to lobby the multinationals not to invest there. India sends out endless streams of lies about Bangladesh all over the world to prevent development of Bangladesh economy. Sadly so effective is the Indian poison a few Bangladesh people (Indian agents or proxies?) even repeat Indian lies and propaganda against their own nation sitting in foreign lands.

It is known that India has the second largest active global Lobby and Public Relations programme in the world after the State of Israel. India lobbies in every nation big and small, Islamic, through its citizens and proxies. India also plants articles, books and essays in foreign newspapers and journals, libraries promoting false information. Bengali people are found all over the world but shamefully they do not lobby for their nation and that has been our weakness. We are seen to be passive and not patriotic, whatever our politics or religion.

BENGALIS ARE STIRRING. THINGS ARE CHANGING AS WE BEGIN TO REALISE THAT WE CANNOT GO ON ALLOWING FALSEHOOD TO BE PROMOTED.
NO LONGER ARE OUR PEOPLE SAYING "SO WHAT IF THEY PROMOTE LIES". WE ARE GOING OUT OF THEIR WAY TO PROMOTE THE TRUE IMAGE OF OUR MODERATE, DEMOCRATIC, ISLAMIC NATION.
IT MATTERS NOT WHAT OUR POLITICAL, SOCIAL OR RELIGIOUS LEANINGS WE MAY FAVOUR. BENGALI PEOPLE REALISE THAT NATIONAL PRESTIGE IS CRITICAL WHATEVER OUR DIFFERENCES. NO NATIONALITY EVER SHUTS IT EYES AND EARS TO AN INSULT.
The terrorism, attacks on foreign people, drug smuggling, sabotage, daily killing, extortion, killing and raping of Bangladesh farmers on the border regions, giving free lethal materials to criminals and terrorists of all tendencies, including "Islamic groups", relentless spreading of lies globally- making a truth out of repeated lies- an old technique- that Bengali people are fanatic Muslims like the Pakistani, Afghan or Arab terrorist. etc is all being orchestrated by Indians and their agents.

India is trying to create hatred: Bengali against Bengali by proxy killings of our people. It is an old trick where violence is generated by proxies- some of the proxies are members of cults founded by Indian Gurus in the West- so that people will unleash violence on each other. India has failed for the last 10 years in its terrorism in Bangladesh to generate chaos. It continues to keep trying. What can Bangladesh and Bengali people do?
We should remember the whole democratic world is being menaced by terrorism, including USA, Spain, France, UK, Malaysia, Kuwait, Lebanon, etc. Bangladesh is only the latest victim of terrorism. It is important for Bangladesh people and their friends not to blow things out of proportion about the present situation. The relaxed ways of Bangladesh are a thing of the past with a police force a quarter the size of UK- UK has a population of 60 million and Bangladesh 150 million. It will take time for our services to become effective as in the USA or Europe. There is no such thing as foolproof security anywhere against determined terrorists.

Bangladesh has no ambition on India even though there are 170 million mostly destitute Muslims in India. Muslims are the poorest group in India- poorest in a desperately poor country. Bangladesh has not desire for India to break-up or fracture. However, India keeps frightening its own people with lies
that Bangladesh has a secret ambition to create Greater Bangladesh out of North India, so-called Brihot Bangladesh- a name invented by Indian misinformation department.

Indian remains very unstable. It has nothing to do with Bangladesh- or Pakistan, China USA, UK or Burma- and the instability has been there for over 60 years, with the entire 4100 km of Indian border with Bangladesh in various stages of chaos. Daily bombs and bullets being the norm at the hand of Indian Army in various parts of Northern Indian, Kashmir to Assam. Why does the world seems to care so little at the "little" Indian wars? It is a great mystery and a puzzle.
Having no external ambition Bangladesh wants to be left in peace to get one with developing its economy and cultural and intellectual life- modern, secular, religious- as a member of the democratic group of nations of Asia. In time with prosperity Bangladesh citizens too will take on the values of "secularism" only recently embraced by some nations of Europe.

Of course, Bangladesh and North India have a shared culture and history going back 4,000 years. We remain proud of our connected history with India and her people. In future, with trust and peace developing in the region and Asia, Bangladesh should help India if India commits herself to peace in the whole region. Britain which left Indo-Bangla Sub-continent in 1947 should help heal rather than add salt.

Bangladesh is a big nation of 150 million people- USA has a population of 290 million and Bangladesh is only the size of Wisconsin- and 40 million strong middle-class and increasing. Bangladesh plays a constructive role in Asia and the world. Bangladesh will never to tempt to give back in terrorism to India. What should Bangladesh do to defend herself from Indian provocation, false propaganda and terrorism?

Bangladesh must improve its own security to prevent Indian terrorism. The relaxed way Bangladesh has operated up to now must end. All its citizens must be made security aware through media and the education system as in USA, France, South Korea and Sweden. Rather than retaliate Bangladesh must work on its own security as a civilised Islamic democracy like Turkey- but even better. We must reassure India that Bengali nation has no ambition in India and wishes her well in dealing with own sad problems.

India today has 20 civil wars raging in all parts. The world is looking the other way most of the time but not policy-makers in the West and East. The Naga nation's independence war is the oldest in the world and least known by world community. Nagas are a Christian people three million strong but Indian Hindu Army has killed some 300,000. The other big Indian nationalities wanting freedom include Kashmiris, Asomese, Tamils, Tribal, Kannadese, Sikhs, Untouchables (250 hundred million), etc....

India has not targeted Muslim nations alone for its dirty terrorism and false propaganda. Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Sikkim, Nepal have all been targeted by Indian terrorism and proxy wars. It proves how fearful India remains for its own survival, especially after the death of USSR.

The cement that holds India is very weak according to analysts. Many Western experts agree it will disintegrate in the next 15 years as caste, racial, regional and linguistic violence escalates even more.

Indian policy and tactics of creating instability in regional nations in order to appear more stable itself is a failure and doomed. It is an extremely dangerous tactics and strategy which Asia and the region must discourage.

For Bengali people an unstable and poor India is undesirable. It is better that people find their own solutions; it should not be Bangladesh business what Indians do in their own territory unless impinged upon by international treaty obligations We will not rejoice at the demise of Indian federation. However, Indian regime must stop its habit of promoting terrorism and false propaganda in Asia. India must be persuaded to disarm its nuclear weapons and ever expanding army for the sake of peace in Asia and the region.

India and its agents have been lobbying against Bangladesh, Muslims, and Bengali people for many years without challenge. It is imperative that our Probashi people and our diplomatic missions begin to challenge the lies about our nation, people and religions. We must lobby governments, institutions, parliaments and diplomats to stop being poisoned by relentless Indian lies and promotion of racism against Muslim people.
It is important that our activities must be done in a rational and dignified manner without negative actions. Anger and loud protests are not going to get results. It requires patient and relentless action over many years to produce results. Also, requires good background work and many different approaches.

If we do not stop the indignity to our nation and people we as a community will feel its harmful and malign effects. Whatever our affiliation or faith we should defend the honour the reputation of our nation
Americans, Germans, Japanese, Chinese zealously guard the honour of their nationality wherever they may reside. It matters not whether we belong to the Left or Right. Indians and some of their NRIs are already heavily promoting lies about us in England, Europe, Arab-Muslim Gulf (!), USA and Canada.

We must do all to wake up and prepare our own information self-defence in a polite, resolute, civilised and firm manner.

As far a West Pakistan is concerned the English occupier created the problem by their invention of a nation from either end of South Asia divided by a 1'000 miles, breaking up civilisations and cultures based on arbitrary reasoning without any care for the region, culture, history. Today's English people are not held responsible or blamed for past crimes and horrors.

As an analogy for a few moments imagine the plight of poor Palestinian refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Kuwait. Fellow Arab Muslim Jordanians killed many thousand of Arab Muslim Palestinians in Jordan. 400,000 Palestinians were kicked out of Kuwait after end of Iraqi occupation as it was alleged that they had co-operated with Saddam's Iraqi Army, looted properties and took part in atrocities.

Palestinians are hated and distrusted by all, yes all, Arab Muslim nations- see Christian Arab Edward Said's on writing on the subject of Arab hostility towards Palestinian Arabs- even though their cause is very dear.
Kurdish Muslims are denied human rights or even killed in all Muslim nations: Arab, Turk or Iranian. Arab Iraqis killed a million or more Iranian Muslims in a nasty racist war even though they all professed Islam.
IT IS MOST UNFORTUNATE THAT MUSLIMS ALL OVER THE WORLD ARE OUR WORST ENEMY. MUSLIM INJUSTICE AGAINST MUSLIMS SHOULD NEVER BE EXCUSED. IT CAN BE USED TO DIVIDE US. THE LAST CALIPHATE WAS UNDERMINED BY SUCH WAYS.

The betrayal by West Pakistanis against the Muslim people is nothing new even in Kashmir. Look at Afghanistan. West Pakistanis took Arab, American and European aid money to the tune of billions of Dollars to act against Russian occupation of Afghanistan. The losers always appear to be the poor Afghans and the winner always West Pakistani regime. The West Pakistani regime collects the massive aid money whoever happens to be the Western target in Afghanistan. Some analysts think the story will have a tragic end point when USA decides West Pakistani mercenary time is up- that may be very soon.

Today West Pakistanis- the name that Bengali people correctly use- and Bangladesh people co-operate on many fronts. Healing would be even quicker if there was a sincere and public tauba to the entire Muslim world by West Pakistani regime and institutions. Bangladesh should gift the resources stolen as a gesture of friendship.
Even though Bengali nation was cheated of her resources in the guise of Islam, remarkably Bangladesh economy and people's development in many areas are better than average West Pakistani according to UN and other agencies. The world should remember many of the advantages West Pakistanis acquired are based on Bangladesh wealth stolen over 26 years. Many honest people of West Pakistan are admitting and even wanting to tell the true story of those 26 years and 1971. But lies are still being published in their media and textbooks. It is important that West Pakistanis are stopped from repeating falsehood as matter of habit. It is hoped soon they will do honest Tabai and demand that the comfortably living killers, looters and rapists in West Pakistan to be tried and jailed at least.

Muslims cannot hold all the poor people of West Pakistan responsible for they have many nationalities, tribes and terrible problems: Pashtun, Sindhi, Baluchi, Saraiki, Mirpuri, Punjabi, Hindko, Urduwalla (muhajir), Gujarati-Kacchi; and many sects and religions: Sunni, Shia, Ismaili, Hindu, Catholic, Christian, Punjabi-Ahmadia... Muslims of the world cannot condemn all.

For the last 20 years in West Pakistan one cannot go to Jumma prayers for fear that Shia or Sunni fanatics will come and gun them down in the middle of prayers. Tribal and ethnic tensions are at boiling point. Most of the Army and natural resources are monopolised by a particular ethnic group. The marginalised and bitter Muhajirs, who had founded Pakistan and formed the original educated class and administrators at partition of South Asia, have been involved in civil-war over independence of Karachi killing tens of thousands; the Baluchis have been killed in their thousands. The Ahmadiya elite who were once so powerful as Punjabi nationality have been decimated or gone underground or lead lives under their own non-Muslim religion.

Gujarati minority, Ismaili and Shia Muslims dominate the wealth traditionally. These groups have been joined by some of the Punjabi Military contract elite. The resentment of other groups keeps growing in West Pakistan.

In all that has been said above one should be aware of our own failures. We appear to have learnt little from the past betrayal and treason at Palashi when the Rajasthani Marwari in-charge of our national treasury, modern equivalent to a Governor of Central Bank, played a very dirty game involving treason from within.
There is a place to make critical judgement as to where some of our own played a part in undermining our nation and people. We should keep holding such dialogue between ourselves in a constructive manner.

A few Muslims- Christians, Jews, Buddhists- have little or no respect for democracy, plurality, adaptation to contemporary ideas and values. Such people continue to hold very primitive ideas about Islam and its great intellectual and cultural achievements. They forget that Islam has always championed the modern and the new and regards plurality and democracy as native to its historic strength. Islam is always fresh and new. Our Book is for all times and places.

Muslims must take care that extremists in our own backyard never gain in strength to undermine democracy and freedom. The enemy of Muslims can make use of fanatics- or even disguise themselves as Muslims- to promote their evil programme too.

Extremism of the Right and Left are enemy of democracy, economic progress and peace in the world. We must not be complacent in that primitive values from abroad can infect some elements Do remember we are a very big nation of 150 million people and even ten people can make a lot of noise. The world should be aware that fanatics and evil people exist in every religion, culture and tradition and they should not be used as an excuse to malign the vast majority who desire to live normal peaceful lives.

Blame game in order to excuse failings in our society must be avoided. The security failures, lack of measures against global information warfare could and should have been prepared for by our nation, our diplomats and its citizens enjoined long ago. Every nation must take responsibility for failing its citizens. But our critical dialogue must be constructive to help improve our nation and our world- we must feel responsible to our global citizenship too.
