01 April 2006 Ratul is back to home now after two months of treatment of his Optic Glaioma from Apollo Specialty Cancer Hospital Chennai.

We are so happy today that Ratul came back to us with good health. We express our deep gratefulness to all who have brought smile in his face. We thank all of them from near and far away who contributed for Ratul with their love, pray and support. Please pray for him so that he remains sound in the following days.

Ratul got extraordinary improvement in his vision but the double vision is still there. We hope it will take two to three months to get read of his double vision naturally. He has to report again after 6 months for re-checkup and till then he has to take all medicines (prescribed by the doctor) timely.

22 March 2006 Doctor told that Ratul has improved a lot by radiotherapy only. He does not need any Chemotherapy after such development. His vision is clear but the double vision is still there. Doctor advised, it will take at least 3 to 4 months to recover.

Ratul has got some side affect from radiotherapy, suddenly he become angry, feels weak, backache and irritation remains all the times, etc. Doctor told that it will take time to recover from these afflictions.

12 March 2006 Ratul has completed his 20th radiation and eight more are yet to face. Doctors are waiting for developments after ending the radiation courses. They have changed some of his drugs and reduced power/doses of some of the medicines. We have another appointment with the doctor on 13th March.

Physically Ratul is feeling better, no headache and less body pain. He is talking with others, helping his mother to prepare food and he is growing taller. But the problem with his eyes are not improving since last week, the double vision is still there.

Doctors told he may need three chemo therapies and they will advise exact type and doses of chemo after completing the radiation courses.

26 Feb 2006

Ratul is feeling better than before. Now he can read the headlines of the newspapers. He feels so happy when he can read something.

Previously he used to walk only for a few minutes (5min.) and after that he used to get tired, his backbone and knees started to pain. Now he can walk for more than 15 to 20 minutes at a stretch. Now his muscles became easy to him, not like so tight as before. he feels so easy now.

Now Doctor has reduced his drugs. For this reason sometimes he feels severe headache and i have to give him high power painkiller.

And that 'chin chin' pain is still there that he feels all the time.

22 Feb 2006 I guess Ratul is improving slowly as he says sometimes he can see a bit clear than he could previously but often it remains as it was (A week back he could hardly see).

Sometimes he can’t sleep at all, whole night he remains sitting and often says “I shall be mad if I can’t sleep.” All the time he feels a kind of headache (he says ‘chin chin kore’), may be this is a kind of side effect. We will come to know the exact situation after the 15th radiation when doctors are going to re-check his situation. Doctor said, “if this does not work as expected then we will change the treatment to another type of radiation.” We have to wait till then to get a concrete report.

14 Feb 2006 Ratul has started taking therapies during this week. The doctors have found growth in the tumor which was removed earlier. they are giving radio therapy 5 times a week (each day except Sat & Sun). They will continue a month in this manner and then will test for measuring progress and advise accordingly for further
treatment. We are praying for a improved result after the therapies.
